does it spontaneously decay into U232 in small amounts?
that is to say, a solid 200gram chunk of the stuff, what kind of radiation should it be emitting? it's normally alpha, but U232 impurities would put out some hard gamma radiation.

or is U232 only produced in small amounts as part of the thorium fuel cycle, and thus would probably decay away in a few years

hence why i'm asking these things.

i'm fully prepared to design remote vehicle to handle radioactive substances. with lots of bit checking just in case those pesky gamma rays try to fuck up the electronics
