Hey /sci/

I used to be an angry misogynist like you guys, but recently I took women's studies just to understand the point of view of the woman, and boy was I shocked. I can't beleive we have been oppressing women so much, I feel so bad, you guys should feel bad too, what have our fellow human females done to deserve our hate? Why are we like this sci?

>mfw I realized that just by being a man, I was part of the most oppressive and violent and aggressive group on earth

Don't you have to be actively aggressive to be considered part of that group? You sound timid.

How's it feel to no longer be a man OP?

Far, far too obvious. Not that it has anything to do with science or math anyway.

No, I'm saying that just being a man makes me a horrible oppressive person, just as somebody born a woman would be an oppressed and trampled person who has no rights.

Looks like they got you, OP.
Women aren't oppressed.
They just use the victim identity to manipulate men and get what they want

can't tell if bad trolling or just weird sarcasm

OP, woman studies is led by feminist who think that men are conspiring to bring them down. I frankly don't mind if the lady brings home the bacon. Gives me more time to do the things I wanna do instead of worrying about bills and shit.

Btw, it's perpetuated by mothers- female gender roles I mean. Observe this OP, when you're out at the mall buying shit, who do you see most of the girls with? Not their father, but their mothers - probably buying shoes or clothes or getting their nails done.

A father figure who's active with their daughter will take her camping, teach her about astronomy and cool tech shit.

tl;dr - gender roles are perpetuated mostly by mothers lol

>> No.2998220

OP here, can we all just admit that we are the oppressors, and we need to change our ways? I think we should make education and training a little less rigorous, so that we can show that women can do the same tasks as men. Any thoughts?

>> No.2998229

I had to write a paper on this shit:

Socially, women and girls alike are actually discouraged from adopting roles that place them in jobs that are traditionally geared towards men. Starting from childhood parents shape the mindset of their offspring to fill in gender roles or certain tasks usually attributed to a member of a certain sex. A study by Melissa Clearfield and Naree Nelson show how parents unconsciously prepare their children and perpetuate a gender role for their kids. The study showed that mothers tend to model and reinforce gender roles, for instance, by being more verbal to their daughters and encouraging social interaction with other children (256). Parents also tend to say that their sons are talented in science or good at math (Goldin, par. 18); perpetuating a societal system of an unknowing gender bias! This mindset is subconsciously wired and socialized into what is expected in “lady-like” behavior. This lasts through their whole lifetime as social structures tend to shape a persons’ behavior. An interesting trend shows that by adulthood, women are just as likely as men to deny the existence of a gender based bias (Ramage et al 520). Not surprisingly, a University of Michigan Study conducted in 2005 concluded that men are less attracted to “assertive and successful” women (512). Considering that American society places gender roles for women through media and magazines, what is expected of women and certain behaviors they should exhibit, it would be expected to see some form of dislike when a woman asserts the role of a man.

That's like saying it'd be a good idea to be more lenient on academic dishonesty in regards to, I don't know, engineering for example.

Your muse is painfully obvious, OP.

Such behavior isn't exclusive to engineer[ing students]. The results of such behaviors is simply more obvious due to how engineering feats more directly impact the public than scientific studies.

Female engineer here, you sound like a pussy.

It's that math and science and engineering are thought to be things only mouth breathers get into, girls don't like being around mouth breathers no matter how many you see wearing shirts saying they love nerds.

Why aren't there more basketball players into math? Or athletic guys? Or just handsome guys with social skills? Cause everyone acts like you have to be a geek to study the field.

I don't give a shit about that nerdy bull. I'm good at physics and math and like messing with machines and I'll get paid a good percent higher than the guys in my field starting off. I'm gonna buy a mustang with it.
