anyone know what the 'diffraction interference pattern equation'?
equation: dL/x = n(lambda)
can someone tell me what each symbol means i have a test tomorrow. i know what lambda is, thats about it.

pic unrelated

d is the distance between the slits, L is the length from the slit to the screen you are projecting the light onto. not sure what n or x are for, been awhile since ive messed with diffraction.

https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/Double-slit_experiment

x is the distance between the bands of light and the central maximum (also called fringe distance)

n is the order of maximum observed (central maximum is n = 0)
