One can use math to implement scientific analysis, but one need not use science to implement mathematical analysis. Each is a tool, but they are distinct tools.

it's do emphasise the distinction between math and natural sciences. in the spirit of

"the studied logic concepts can be considered man-made, but mountains and clouds are (typically asumed to be) also there even without humans".

Like mathematicans came up with principle bundles before phycicists developed the mathematics of quantum field theory of gauge fields and just decades afterwards they discovered they were proving the same theorems
