What would /sci/ think of a world run by aperture science?

(This post is more meaningful if you've played Portal 2)

The world would truly be a better place if I could quantum tunnel into and out of my shower every morning.

It would be a triumph
they would make a note there: HUGE SUCCESS
It would be hard to overstate their satisfaction.

They have invented mind uploading and portals and infinite energy, they would invent more.

The only downside is that it would be a dictatorship and everyone would be required to take part in dangerous tests, for the sake of science.

Black Mesa made Aperture go bankrupt. Enjoy a penniless, dying world.

Apperture

>Bankrupt
>spends money it doesn't have on needless and inefficient things
>One guy in charge
>No regard for the health or well being of anyone

Doesn't seem all that different from our current system

Cave or GLaDOS?

Cave was a true bro, I would be honored to live in his benevolent patriarchy.

GLaDOS is a crazy bitch, FUCK NO.

All test subjects were volunteers. Mandatory testing was only in place because they were almost bankrupt and even then you could opt out if your research was good enough.

homicidal sentient supercomputers designed with the sole intent of testing the living fuck out of every living organism they see with various experimental objects
...and also absolutely no hope in ever seeing a trace of Black Mesa, fat jokes, gordon freeman, a lambda, or gay bens

I would love it. Space travel and colonization would explode with the availability of firing portals onto Luna, Mars, and perhaps if it's timed correctly, exoplanets.

Just no GlaDoS please.

In the actual Half-Life universe canon, Black Mesa actually ended up running the world, after a fashion. All the tech we've seen the 'combine' using on earth is most likely terrestrial in nature, from Black Mesa labs.

And if that is the case, they (Black Mesa) really were PATHETIC. They even fucking STOLE the 50's-era portal gun, and somehow fucked it up (turning it into the weird vacuum gun from Half-Life, remember that?).

Also, moon portal destroys world.

A sentient AI with the sole intention to at first kill, and then after having a morality core installed simply test every human who enters its lab does not sound like much fun at all.
