J.S. Bach's Well Tempered Clavier(Pretty much any Bach works, but Fugues just make my mind think quicker)
Shostakovich's 24 Preludes and Fugues

I'm a big classical music fan, but listening to fugues just ALWAYS helps me.

TBQH, you can see the difference between the two types. I clearly like dynamic classical music. Mozart/Bach/Vivaldi tend to stick to an endless stream of eighth notes...which is very monotonic.

Its the patterns you make from those 8 notes thats important. Music is about differences between one note and another, shit, 8 notes right there is 64 combinations of two notes, and three notes? thats hundreds.

Its the depth and subtly you get from varying those 8 notes that makes it interesting. Contrast, music is all about contrast, contrasting frequencies, contrasting volumes, and contrasting tempos.

>> No.2964110

>>2964080

Exactly. The larger the contrast, the greater the emotional reaction (see: Nocturne Op 15 No 1).

Subtle manipulation of the melody through slight variations can be marveling to watch as they are played. It takes more dexterity to play Bach and Mozart I believe if you do it right (no damper).

But the lack of dynamics and abrupt changes in tempo/shift to keys makes it dull!

I'm not trolling. I've listened to a lot of Bach, Mozart, Beethoven (he sometimes follows Bach/Mozart patterns), and Vivaldi.

That playlist I linked has quite a few pieces of Mozart/Bach on it if not for the fact that they're incredibly popular.
