Can a Britfag with 4 A-Levels at A* get into Harvard?

>> No.2953406

Since you don't have them yet, no.

If you do have them, then yes. Quite easily. But you could also get into any university in the UK, which would be cheaper, more convenient, more fun and better.

American universities are good for Post Grad courses and that's it .

Good luck with that.

Harvard is number 1, and you get to live in America, the greatest country on earth.

>> No.2953484

America is vastly overrated. Canada is where it's at.

Recommendations, personal statement and SAT scores matter more.
I got 4 A's too and A* in FurtherMaths, but my SAT Verbal sucked.

That must have been a neat trick, getting an A* before they implemented them and filling in a Harvard app.

Yeah but the big difference is that people actually get into Oxbridge. And that they don't need their parents to sell their organs to fund it.

What? There are no A*s at AS, and the first A*s at A2 began last year.

Implying you shouldn't rate it based on your course.

I'd like to see most Ivy League maths students get a first in it from Cambridge.

Depends what you A-levels you take. If you take Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Chemistry then yes. If you take Media, Psychology, Drama and Art then that's a different story.

I hear Cambridge do an undergrad exchange with MIT.

First 3 definite yes, music not so much but it does sort of give you a unique point in application

They do. Apparently it's massively popular at both, though, so you'd be unlikely to get on it even if you were at either of those universities.

I'm not OP, by the way. I'm going on an exchange to the States next year anyway, so I should be able to get some AP/post-AP courses in other things that should look good when I apply next winter, too.
