College degree thread /sci/,

If you aren't sure, then you're fucked. Become a hooker. All you need to know is Word and Excel.

mechanical, electrical, or computer science engineering. Why'd you pick civil?

Go Electrical/Mechanical/Software if you want to work with robots. So, maybe a Mechatronics degree with a software engineering or computer engineering

i wasnt interested in robots back then. i was interested in cash and job security.
So, i guess mechatronics and then a phd in robotics

Usually deluded fantasies come before being realistic.

are you referring to the civil or robotics being delusional?

Robotics and AI in the truest sense is probably still the domain of computer science. I ended up with a mechanical major, mechatronics minor. I work in a field that most people would describe as robotics, but I don't feel that's completely honest. But hey.

robotics is a hybrid field of CSE, EE, and ME. You just need to take a robotics course and start building. You might struggle with coding on the level you need to at first, but theres a lot of dev kits and groups that can really help you out.

Here are some class projects from the class I took. All their final reports, schematics and source code are included as well as all the course material.
