>Philosophical speculation, not much else really. I think, since it's impossible to perceive nonexistence, consciousness will always continue to perceive something (at least, consciousness as we experience it--in time--will continue to experience something.) I'm generally of the opinion that post-death consciousness change is fairly disorienting and that it's highly difficult to maintain one's identity throughout, since one wouldn't have the body/surroundings/interpersonal connections that one uses to stabilize one's identity. I imagine it's at least a little similar to the experiences described in the Tibetan Book of the Dead, but of course it could be something entirely different, I really don't know. It just seems to be the best guess to me.
