Taking College level organic chemistry class.
Hard time remembering all the different reactions.
What do?

You're pretty fucked, you should've been studying them as they came throughout the entire class.

>> No.2926112

Care about them. You're gonna need to know them if you want to understand the conversation.

>> No.2926142

Although difficult, if i really try I can remember the reactions, even things like they're syn/anti, E1/SN1 or E2/.

I can never do the propose the steps for the synthesis. Is there a trick or shortcut? Do you look at the product and work your way back? For some people its really easy but it takes me forever.

Office hours, brah. All of them.

Fuck how everyone else does, figure out how YOU do it.

I had the same problem last year OP. It is pretty hard to remember all that but I found it helps to look at diagrams of the reaction so you can see where the bonds are changing.

How good is that book in OPs pic anyways?

I see, I am looking for some material to review over the summer, just took Organic 1 and loved it. I'll take a look at that, thanks.

lol, have memories of feeling overwhelmed by all the alkene reactions he suddenly required us to know. how do you memorize them? by memorizing them. use flash cards.

organic 2 was 75% synthesis problems and reaction memorization for us.

Memorization in organic chemistry?

Looks like you guys never learned how to push electrons.
