So, /sci/, i'm thinking a likely exoplanet atmosphere that can sustain life might be 20% oxygen, 70% neon, 5% sulphur and the rest other gases at a pressure of roughly 1 atm. What color would this atmosphere have ? Will the life forms evolving in this atmosphere be similar to the Earth ones ?

neon, baby!
it would be like the 80s

It'd look practically like Earth, except substituting Nitrogen's dull whitish haze with Neon's dull reddish. So the color would only be different at a large distance for atmospheric haze.

Also humans might have trouble dealing with the slightly heavier neon. Everyone would sound a notch deeper, if nothing else.

"20% oxygen" - is that O2 or O3? Humans like O2. Humans don't like O3. Except when it's in a protective layer in the sky.

Ok, thanks, interesting. And since neon is easy to ionize, we could have some spectacular lightning phenomena in the atmosphere. My sci-fi novel keeps getting better and better
