Dear /sci/:

why am i a worthless procrastinating fucktard?

>> No.2915824

Procrastination only harms the incompetent.

>> No.2915821

i am the exact way OP, i usually set to do a project, ending up doing it 3-4 hours later.

>go to doctor
>say you're having great difficulty in concentrating
>get adderal
>take in less-than-prescribed amounts lest one should build up a tolerance
>sell leftover adderal with each prescription to make extra cash

There's how you chemically stop procrastination, OP.

it's simple OP: everytime you feel that you are procrastinating you will execute 20 pushups and commence your real work

>> No.2918239

Action occurs when the fear of the consequences of not doing something outweigh the natural inclination to stay doing fuck all. (Inertia.)

So you are deferring your perception of consequence. You must realise that the consequence of not acting is real, immediate and unavoidable.

Or, come up with a plan to work around said consequence. (Unfortunately, this often results in harder work than just executing plan A in a promt and tactical fashion.)

What are currently procrastinating is obviously not what you want to do, Find what it is you enjoy.

I don't think that's how it works. Unless it's drinking, or sleeping, then I procrastinate at it. And I even procrastinate at sleeping sometimes. I enjoy learning. I enjoy doing "work". I just procrastinate to fuckall end of time.

>> No.2918497

I find that procrastination tends to come when you either: find no reason to complete task with urgency because you have an extended period of time to do it, or because you fear the consequences of doing a task badly, or because you don't know HOW to start the task itself, therefore making it look insurmountable. Break your task up into different small chunks and it should become more manageable. Also, rewarding yourself for starting a task is good. All it takes is to start something, then you're pretty set, anon.

That's what I was thinking. Even the first question, it's like "I find it hard to concentrate on uninteresting things". Uhhhhh.. 100% of people find it hard to concentrate on UNINTERESTING things. It's when it's hard to concentrate on EVERYTHING that it matters.
