Am I the only one who doesn't feel sympathy for people with HIV/AIDS when they bring it upon themselves? I mean, if they didn't know their partner had it and were diagnosed, I would feel bad for them - but people who go around having unprotected sex/using needles/drinking blood, I don't feel sorry for.

Though I don't necessarily "don't feel sorry" for people that may have unprotected sex, share needles and even drink blood (what?), it is a fairly common-sense sort of thing that it is not a good idea to do those things frivolously. On a related note, I have heard of certain sickening individuals that do have the disease and spread it freely; they call themselves "bugs" or something whereabout, men and women that purposely compromise condoms in order to spread HIV as though it's some sort of sport. Was part of an image macro though, so I'm not entirely certain of its validity.

I don't feel sorry for people who bring these things on themselves. If it's something like a car accident, it depends on whose fault it was, whether or not they were intoxicated, and other factors.

To sum it up: I only feel sorry for people who have no control over what has happened to them.
