As for the OP, It's not cut and dry as either "conservative" or "liberal" are making it out to be. The kid was unarmed, granted, but he threatened the life of the clerk. If the clerk shot with the intent to kill, knowing he was unarmed, it'd be clear, but he was suitably threatened -- that still doesn't make it right to kill a kid, but if I said that shooting the kid wasn't justified, I'd be lying through my teeth.
