if 2 is even and 3 is odd, then why 5 (being 2 and 3) is even, and not both even and odd?

if I'm awesome and OP's mom is hot, then why is OP (Being the spawn of me and OP's mom) a fag, and not both me and his hot bangin' mom?

I dunno, OP. I dunno.

Yes.

5 IS EVEN?

>> No.2897153

odd + odd = even
even + even = even
odd + even = odd

it's odd. i've mistyped.

i see these formulas, but they make no sense from the point of logic.

No, they just don't make sense to YOU.

First, let us define that we operate in the set of integers only.

2m+1 + 2n = 2(m+n) + 1 means the following:

Take any odd number, represented here by 2m+1.
(If you add 1 to an even number 2m it becomes odd, because even numbers cannot be consecutive. 2m is even because it is divisible by 2.)

Add an even number (2n) to said odd number; 2m+1 + 2n.
With simple algebra this can be rearranged into 2(m+n)+1, which is a single number. Note that it is odd, because 2(m+n)+1 cannot be divided with 2. It is also the next integer (because of +1) on the number line from an even integer (2m+n), therefore it must be odd.

i think there's really something worth noticing happening right there.

is there a system of arithmetics where even 5 is differentiated from odd 5?

Read the book on number theory from Euclid's Elements.

It'll make you cry.

so was the Euclid's parallel postulate till Lobachevsky introduced his new geometry, that made Einsteins theory possible.

rigid 3000 years old thinking is what holds us back

>>2897509

it's both even and odd. you didn't read my post.
