Series of possible stupid questions coming your way, but whatever..

Does anyone actually own the moon? Like, if Russia lands a spacecraft on it can any of the other countries call them out on trespassing or something? Or is it setup like that everyone has a share to it?

nobody owns it right now. the only way anyone could effectively "own" the moon would mean that they had a way to enforce their property rights. this either implies literally space defenses preventing people from using the moon (unpossible right now) or waging some kind of economic war against people who use to moon without your permission (why would you do that? the moon has no resources)

it's a neat case but until we encounter some kind of valuable shit on the moon there's no real reason to claim it.

>the moon has no resources
regolith is packed with H3.

We WILL mine the fuck out of it in the future, but it's not cost effective now.

We'll either need an effective wireless energy transmission system and lunar bases, or a cheap way to ferry stuff to and from the moon.

It was declared to be neutral territory, not owned by anyone except the Earth as a whole, but I can almost guarantee you that as soon as someone (if ever) sets up a colony on the moon, it'll suddenly be "their" property.

right up until America nukes them.

which they probably will, simply to send a message.

>> No.2892978

The Moon belongs to us, America. We found it first. We just need to get the Pope to approve it.

the west cant eradicate a dictator with ancient military technology in libya, or poorly trained insurgents in afghanistan after nearly a decade, if colonists made it to the moon they wouldn't have to worry much.

It's not the west eradicating him. It's the rebels. There are no western ground forces.

it's been their plan all along, and the us, uk and france have admitted as much today.

either way all the posturing done by the us over the last 50 years seems to have been all bark and no bite as they're inept at every conflict they get into.
