Hey /sci/, what should I major in if I want to contribute to the steady march of human progress, but only possess average intelligence?

biology

Average intelligence is enough to get you into an engineering program at most state schools. It will take you work, but it's not out of reach.

I'm a bio major, and I'd second this, but graduate school can be rough (from what I know). Competition for funding and then competition for academic jobs is tough. But yeah, bio isn't super intensive (you can just go premed) and has useful applications

Are you sure you have average intelligence?

I sense a delusion of mediocrity.

Depending on how much weight you give IQ test results. I got a 110 the last one I took, but it was online, so I take it with quite a bit of salt. Still, though, I've never exhibited anything other than average academic performance.

Your thoughts are more coherent than most of average intelligence.

How well do you do on achievement tests?
