I am writing a research paper on the evolution of computer programming, but I need some help getting started. Any ideas what I should do for my intro? I don't want it to be the general bland stuff.

talk about how computer programming actually has a lot in common with magic

Lol, Should I just do a completely illogical and false paper on computers and magic?

GO on.

Maybe you could use the story of how the term "bug" came around for your intro. I always thought it was kind of funny.

How would I go about transitioning into the bug topic in the first paragraph. I am horrible at intros, but I can write good content.

"The very first computers were not programmed with compilers and processors, but rather relied on paper cards with holes punched in them in specific patterns that the computer would read to perform their functions. Today's computers have come a long way, being both more powerful and much smaller than those ancient machines..."

Thank you.

You should not be starting with punch cards. How can you do a paper on this and not start at least back with babbage and lovelace? What you should really do is talk about how programming concepts come from more general ideas and are applied more specifically to programming.

Would you be able to give me a link of more information or help develop the thought into an introduction?

>> No.2825930

Are you referring to the Antikythera mechanism?

A link to more info on what? You can't use google/wikipedia? And no. Sorry to be a dick, but I have other shit to do right now. Good luck.

Never mind the more links. Are you referring to the Antikythera mechanism?
