String theory.

Discuss.

>> No.2805946

strings are 1-D

4-D world we live in is composed of 3-D objects which is composed of 2-D objects which are composed of 1-D objects.

Sounds like string theory is telling us that there's a 1st dimension

Best discussion of it I've seen.

But isn't the existence of a 1st dimension kind of...obvious?

not when you give it a cool name like string theory

AWW SHIT SON

So really, is string theory actually credible or is it just dumb?

>> No.2806019

>>2806009

It's plausible enough, we just don't have the capacity to test it very well yet. Basically now the only proof we have for it is mathematical.

But mathematics can prove most anything.

I mean the math based on what they theorize works out pretty well, but that only proves that it could be true, not that it necessarily is.

i have used the string theory to prove god and souls are real and actual possibility... i had a moment of clarity and no i was not high...

Including false things.

If you try and eliminate the scientific with mathematics you immediately become a religiot.

No, excluding false things.

Are you stupid?

Mathematics can and has failed to replicate reality correctly despite the mathematics themselves being correct. Mathematics is an extremely useful tool and it can be used to attempt to model reality to a practical degree of reality but your assertion that it is absolute, and that anything proven viable with math is automatically also true in reality, is just as religious as believing Jesus Christ rose from the dead three days after he passed away on the cross.

String Theory isn't even a legitimate theory (it's just a strong hypothesis) until it's been verified via physical and observational prediction in replicated and scrutinized controlled experimentation and prediction.
