It's really not the end of the world; just the end of the Mayan calendar for the 13th baktun. It's the beginning of the 14th baktun. Just like every year on December 31st, at the stroke of midnight, we change over our calendars to January 1st of the next year.
Seriously, people are stupid. And you should not believe them.
