All the games now are stored on the disk of the machine. You just select it and load. Old ones are best ones too. You no longer have to tear the house to shreds when you cant find your wanted cartridge only to remember you let your faggot friend barrow it.

for the vhs tape you forgot:
- also back then we had to fast forward the trailers. could also easily take some 3 to 5 minutes
- worst case scenario: you inserted the tape only to see that before it had not been rewinded. time to watch: easily some 5 to ten minutes.

but in general you are indeed right. some new techs were not an improvement at all. some were, but some were indeed a going back into the sixties. as if the makers did forget the usability completely.
