Engineering or physics, which major?

>> No.2768408

Whichever you like more.

>> No.2768409

Physics, duh.

>> No.2768437

Depends on what you enjoy. Want something pragmatic, where you'll have a successful life? Go engineering. Physics is more academic and the majority of career paths involve graduate school and don't really allow you to focus on much else. Physicsfag here. I love it, but the only difference between physics and engineering is lifestyle choice, really.

yep, some liberals do call engineering an alternative lifestyle
it's okay, op, be who u truly r

You posted this in my thread temporarily faggot.

Most engineers will never have to learn quantum physics either

>> No.2768498

>>2768463

Odd....that was kind of a requirement where I am from >.>....

I had to take:
Mechanics
Thermodynamics/Electricity/Magnetism
Optics/Relativity/Quantum

Not all science is the same. You have practical fields like medical science and engineering, and then the egghead theoretical stuff like physics.

>> No.2768521

>>2768498
really? that's a lot more than most schools require I think. You do mean the actual classes in these right? Not just what you learned in intro or 2nd year physics?

>> No.2768524

yeah, how far did you go? solving the wave equation?

>> No.2768544

>>2768521

Right.

Well, maybe most places don't do it like that. I dunno.

I wish I could take some more physics. That stuff was interesting (albeit challenging as well).

Yes, we worked with Schrödinger's cat. I really liked relativity was interesting, but my favorite thing to study was quantum physics.

The last thing that I think remember doing is working on p-n junctions.

We didn't really get into nuclear physics.
