Id associate the red writing with accounting, which doesnt use very advanced math. Ive never had an economics class that simply used red writing to refer to a negative number.

It's a soft science, like psychology. When we're not being dicks, which is rare, we talk about econ and psych here, but you really shouldn't try to push the science card or people will get irritated.

Doesn't know about social sciences which are a liberal art. Futhermore, it is a counterintuitive confused mess to say something is a hard science and something else isnt (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demarcation_problem).). What it almost terminates with is the definition of pornography, you only know it when you see it.

Alright I wont push this any farther, but I do want to say one thing about psyche..

Psychology is dumb. I have the same sentiment about psychology as you guys (probably).

I think economics is actually good for something. We learn about, the mathematics relevant to decision making in a business environment. We arent learning cooky new theories that couldnt possibly be applied in a real life situation.

With that said there is a very big difference between my economics major in the business school, and an economics major in the psychology department.
