I've reached a new low and applied for a job at primark.
they have a mini IQ test on the application form of basic maths and english questions, its not very surprising the yahoo answers is full of people asking them. So like everyone else i cheated, but now i feel ashamed for it.

this is probably the most confusing out of them
On a shelf in a store there are five different items on it. The book is on the right of the mug and the pen is on the right of the book. The magazine is on the left of the mug and the bottle is on the left of the pen. Which item is in the middle?

or even this
Jeff starts work at 8.45am and finishes work at 5.15pm. He has 90 minutes of breaks. How many hours does he work in 5 days?

At least it's not that Unicru garbage.

yeh it was nice to find something original for a application form.
but form experiences everyone at primark must of cheated, but at the end cheating shows resourcefulness.

you really couldn't solve those two problems? were you allowed to use pencil and paper?

Those questions are pretty easy, this is middle school level maths, primark basically wants an excuse to get rid of down's syndrome 'tards without looking like evil racists.

It's illegal to exclude someone from a job opportunity based on IQ in the United States. Whatever you call it, it's not an IQ test.

the "five-different-items-on-the-shelf" question only works if you interpret
>is on the left to
as
>is the item directly next and left to
which isn't really the same thing..

>> No.2716755

>>2716724

No, because there are two items to the left of the mug.

Now, it's entirely possible that the items are arranged in a circle even though they're on a shelf, which would mean that no item is in the middle.

>there are two items to the left of the mug.
[citation needed]

>it's entirely possible that the items are arranged in a circle
don't act like an idiot, even though you are one.

>The book is on the right of the mug
mug book

>the pen is on the right of the book
mug book pen

>The magazine is on the left of the mug
mag mug book pen

>bottle is on the left of the pen
here is where it gets ambiguous. It could mean
bottle mag mug book pen
or mag mug bottle book pen
or mag mug book bottle pen.

They probably mean the last one, but it's a badly worded question nevertheless.

i could solve them, but i chose to google them. its a online application form, so right click and search was quicker.
this is why i said i am ashamed.
i'm not ashamed of my intelligence but of my laziness.
i went the quicker route with out even thinking about it.

For a moment, I thought I became so dumb I couldn't answer a supposedly simple question.
Thanks for confirming the problem lies with the ambiguous question.
