Good Evening /sci/,

I have a question to ask:

What's the best course in University that will give me a very high-paying job. I'm pretty much good at all major subjects. I know this is a very broad subject but try to be more objective. I'm in Canada btw

The standard responses:

Law, doctor, engineer, CEO....something creative.....

Law actually won't give you that much money unless you are able to start a successful law firm. I also heard that patent law makes some money.

Doctor is the best bet as long as you can get through all of it. Long term, after considering the amount of money you spent on school and amount of time that you spent in school rather than working, a doctor's salary averages a little over 60k per year. Although, you might be able to get around this by getting scholarships and serving in the military. Anyone, it's the best chance to get rich.

Plenty of engineering careers to choose from. Aerospace and CS are some of the higher paying ones from what I know.

CEO is a long shot. Hit or miss and be prepared to be very unethical.

I'm going to do bioinformatics myself. The salary looks decent (~100k), and the work doesn't look killer (unlike a doctor).

Do what you want to do above all else though. 4-11 years in school is quite a long time....

Lol. Something is way off with that chart. Physicians are by far the highest paying jobs.

OP Here

So /sci/,

I'm kind of looking for a job that will give me a high paying job (starting) but don't require too much study like being a doctor.

If you join the Canadian forces, MD's get a $100,000 signing bonus and start at 50k per year. Each year, it increases by a lot and caps off at 120k per year.

Dentists make a lot, maybe more, in the CF too.

Engineers... quants... all the degrees that require intelligence.
