I accidentally forgot to turn off my gas stove, and right now I'm on the bus on my way to college. I'm posting this with an iPhone. Should I come back? How much damage will be done to my apartment? It's a 15 story building, and my flat is on the 4th. Will the building collapse in case of a gas explosion?

Yes, you could lose everything.

Nah gas only ignites if you're in the room with it (it's a safety feature on all new gas stoves)

My gas stove doesn't have any electronics apart from the igniter - I don't see how it could detect the presence of a person.

How much time would it take for everything to blow up?

It would be really fast. That's the idea behind an explosion.
