It might factor into it but a lot more of it probably has to do with them kinda being reluctant to either make new friends or are afraid that you'd bust their ego if you're better than them. Most likely the first. It'll get better as you're in more classes with them. Perhaps some of them are already friends from outside the class, so that's something you'd have to consider.

Either that or they're just sexist when it comes to math, which is just silly.

Well, what level are you even at? If you just turned 18, then you're probably just in vector calc/linear algebra at the most...usually the awkward doesn't really come about until you hit the really advanced classes

...Well, there might be your problem. You probably won't find many friends in either, an actuary club in particular given how cutthroat that shit can get with exams and whatnot (I'm currently studying for 2/FM, so...yeah...fun times).

The best mathy friends that I ever made were ones that I work(ed) with tutoring. We spend a bunch of time together, so we just talk and any uneasiness disappears.

You're only gonna make good friends at clubs if you guys actively do activities together for long term periods, not just go to meetings and stuff, which is kind of difficult for both, but still doable.

If you're hot as you say and very good at math, you'll have a tough time getting accepted by an all male group. If you're very attractive most guys will be too distracted to do work anyways or would feel that there is competition between them.

If you want real friends just talk around and see where you fit in. Don't feel bad if you don't have "a lot" of friends.

As a decent looking guy in a pure maths program amongst oceans of nerds I, too, have become very shy among them (they're very mean-spirited and hateful) and, well, don't really associate with them. There are girls in my classes, but they just look sterile. Most of my friends on campus are actually humanities majors--they're the most easy going. I mean I once made a joke about how I wish we didn't learn about vector spaces, and this fat kid just told me to drop the course.
