If creationists never mentioned god in their work, maybe they would be more credible. But since they're essentially the modern scholastics (back in the dark ages monks would try and explain the existence of god through scientific reasoning), a relic of the past, no one takes them seriously.

A theory is just a theory, true. But empiric facts can validate or refute it. If you don't get why creationism has been refuted you really need some mental help. And evolution is a valid theory by the moment. BTW Darwinism is not exactly the same as nowaday's evolution theory.

According the written sources from the spanish national history archive, taking by Garcia Carcel (the most renown researcher about the subject) there were some 150000 inquisition trials between the XV and XIX centuries. These are actually good points, that not every person - let alone every creationist - could be expected to know the answer to. That's a really good hole to poke in the big bang theory! How can, by conservation of mass/energy, one start with zero and end with everything. Checkmate scientists!

Oh wait. What energy? The net sum of energy/matter is zero in the universe. The universe is flat, +-2%. It could have come from nothing, without any energy input.

Except not. If you have an endless expanse of nothing, eventually you get something. Quantum mechanics says so. The state of having absolutely nothing is highly unstable, and will result in lots of somethings and anti-somethings with a net sum of zero somethings.
