/sci/, I'm tripping balls, some kid just asked me this on Omegle, and as someone studying maths in uni, my mind was blown.

Train A travels 20mi/h slower than Train B. It takes Train A 30 minutes longer than Train B to travel 200 miles. How long does it take Train A to make the 200 mile trip?

I can rearrange and find T from a quadratic, but it comes out to be a decimal, surely with a problem like this it must be an integer? Help me and this kid out, /sci/

train a takes 2.5 hours

also I'm high as fuck on shrooms

I meant train A takes 2.5 hours

x=y-20

y(T)=200

(T+.5)x=200

((200/y)+.5)(y-20)=200

.5y^2-10y-4000=0

solve for y and you get 100 then figure out the rest of the variables.

also I posted this and I'm a community college student studying History.Me and you should switch majors OP. Also I did this while on shrooms so it took quite a while but I got it.
