Can /sci/ do basic math? Lets find out.

How many yards of material from a 24-yard length of cloth remain after 3 pieces, each 31/2 yards long, and 5 pieces, each 21/4 yards long, are removed?

Why are you stretching material out on the front lawn; that seems like a waste.

>> No.2530461

Maybe if you state your homework like a challenge other people will do it for you.

>> No.2530470

i presume when you say 31/2 you mean 3.5 not 15.5, same goes for 21/4.

2.25yards

>> No.2530477

24 yards lenght...

3 pieces of 31/2..

>wtf that 3*15.5 removed..

>> No.2530484

31/2 * 3 = 93/2
21/4 * 5 = 105/4
93/2 + 105/4 = 186/4 + 105/4 = 291/4
24 - 291/4 = 96/4 - 291 = -195/4

There's -195/4 yards of cloth left

i wont give you the answer OP
you are pancakes
pancakes dont do math

>> No.2530502

24 - ((3*31/2)+(5*21/4)) = -195/4 or -48.75
