OP is a troll, but he has a point about science being a substitute for religion nowadays. Just try to go against dogma in Biology, for example (No, I'm not only talking about race theory). You can have epic flamewars if you post something radically new but supported by evidence in a place that's full of people who have a hard on for obsolete knowledge (See Copernicus for a famous example). It's even more pronounced in the "soft" sciences.

Goes to show that humans need something to believe in, I guess. I miss the good old days, when people actually researched even the most retarded ideas, just to find out the truth.
