How many grams of potassium dichromate(formula mass=242.2) would be required to prepare 0.2M standard solution in a 100ml standard flask?

>> No.2490638

0.2M = moles of potassium dichromate / .1L

>> No.2490648

Cool homework, bro.

hence, he only gets a formula

What's the formula?

my brain is so fried.

Do i just multiply them all together

0.2*0.1*242.42=4.844g

is that a formula?

>>2490658
c=m/v
m=nM

>> No.2490827

i got 0,0825 mg

>> No.2490831

2.0m/L= 0.2mols/100ml = 242.2 x .2 = 48.44 grams of potassium dichromate.

>> No.2490833

the formula is the fucking definition of molarity. lrn2dimensionalanalysis

also ask the smart kid you cheat off in high school chem class he needs friends.

>> No.2490846

>>2490831

yeah but 0,2 M means 0,2 mol/l so it is 0,02 mol/0,1l

>> No.2490847

Why is chemistry just a series of shitty word problems with plug and chug math. Worst way to teach a cool subject evar.

Molar concentration is the amount of substance in a given solution.

It is not always moles/litre. It can be moles/ml.

Good day to you sir.

the 242.2 is the molar mass. you cant just mix it up with mass. the molar mass is measured in g/mol.
use the 2 formulas.

I can't tell if you're being serious.

If you knew anything about molar mass, my equation is right. just because I decided not to put the units and specify which was molar mass and which was the measured grams doesn't mean it is incorrect. This kid was looking for the numbers, not the units.

yes i'm fucking raging at this idiots stupidity

>> No.2490869

so, you wanna put 48.44 g into 100 ml to get a 0.2 M solution?

u mad

>> No.2490874

>>2490869

Seeing as it is a solution, meaning it dissolves. Yes.

You mad?
