Colour is merely the frequency of light. I suppose our brains needed someway to organise this information, and decided on sight. I dunno.

Taste is mainly smell. I would think that it's our brain's way of both understanding certain chemicals to tell us "this is good, you can eat" and "this is not good, you can not eat".

Emotions, as far as we know, are merely chemicals that our brains understand. They help us think instinctively, I guess.
