Can it be coming out of the closet time?

Bakcground info: I'm 18 years old, male, finishing high school in a few months, and then I'll be going to college. I figured tonight was time enough to come out to my parents.

So, it was about half an hour ago. I decided I would do it. I rang my boyfriend. He was very supportive. His parents didnt mind, according to him so I was re-assured slightly. Though my parents are less liberal then his so I'm still a little worried

Anyway I took 3 shots of vodka first and waited ten minutes for the alcohol to take effect. I went in. "Parents, I have something to say". Oh god, a romantic movie was on, and they were snuggling. Made me uncomfortable. "What is it son?" They said in unison. They did that alot.
"I-I"
"Yes, son?"
I decided to wait. I brushed it off to later, laughing and said "ah, ill wait for this bit of the movie to end".

So I walked out and waited another ten minutes. Rang my boyfriend again, told him how it was hard (hurr durr not in that way).

So anyway, nothing really happened. I went in and blurted it out. "Mom and Dad, it's time I finally told you. I'm majoring in engineering. I'll be starting my engineering major next september"

They turned off the TV and told me to leave while they had a small chat.
What can I expect to happen next?

Anyhow, i feel you pain.

It is as hard as telling my family i no longer worship that misconception they call god...

I can't tell them I am no longer part of their religion, because in my culture those who are "godless" are very look down upon, for their lack of morals and whatnot.

You on the other hand, can use this in your favor.
