Do crystal balls work on a fundemental frequency or on a harmonic frequency?

I assume it's a harmonic frequency that matches A or B type brainwaves

I understand how crystals can vibrate at certain frequencies (piezoelectrics) , but the round shape confuses me.

So far the resonance idea seems the most scientific argument, but are there actual frequencies (primary or harmonic) that match brainwaves to crystals. And if so what are they? And are they strong enough to be measured or amplified.

Haven't read much from this thread but I feel like I should mention brain waves aren't actually waves. They are measurable as oscillations in the extracellular space, but in principle they're just a <span class="math">\underline{\rm summation}[/spoiler] of post-synaptic / dendritic activity. The underlying components are spikes, EPSP's and IPSP's which themselves aren't oscillatory. Therefore the concept of resonance doesn't apply.

What? I'm not suggesting they have special powers. I don't know shit about crystals, but I do know a lot about brain waves. Someone was suggesting crystals interact with the brain through resonance. Even if they do have some magical power which we are all unaware of (which they don't) they still couldn't interact with the brain through resonance because the brain doesn't resonate.

Not ALL crystal balls are leaded glass.

The one I use is quartz. It looks similiar to the one in this pic. The glass ones are cheap knock-offs, used for stage props and the like. A true psychic uses real crystal balls.

But you can get information from brain activity. As you stated they are 'measurable as oscillations' Modern tech has even created devices to take advantage of this. (See Pic - it's an Epoc Headset Brainwave Controller)

So is it too unbelievable to think that this same measurable oscillation could be picked up by something in nature - like say a large piece of quartz.

Yeah, because the signal involved is fucking tiny. You need silver / silver chloride electrodes with preamplifiers built into them in contact with the scalp through conducting gel, amplified by a 25.000 dollar amplifier to even be able to pick up a signal. It just doesn't conduct far enough outside of the head (pic related).
