I am taking a course in electronics this semester, and my book is The Art of Electronics by Horowitz and Hill. I have read about half of the first chapter, and am disgusted by the quality of writing, clarity and overall poor quality of this book. Does anyone have any suggestions for another book I can read concurrently with this one?

p.s. I am first and foremost a math major, and therefore ebb toward the Spring style of text (i.e. terse). Bonus points for that...

...Bump, for this is relevant to my interests.

When I took my electronics course we used Principles of Electronic Instrumentation by Diefenderfer/Holton. It was pretty good, though there were surprisingly many typos...especially in the exercises. Several of these typos made problems impossible to figure out, which was quite stressful. Overall it is good though
