I just got my Kindle today. Can you recommend good free reference texts/pdfs in sciences? (Anthropology and related stuff included.)

Preferably outside astronomy/physics, which are my specialties.

Actually I've visited sites like that before, I have several e-books.

I'm actually interested in a few references *really worthy* of my time, sorry for not being so specific. Review papers are good too, I have access to journals.

These should work: Ebscohost; Web of Knowledge; JSTOR; Academic Search Premier; Worldcat. Oh, and Nook>Kindle.

Sure, I'm familiar with them. It was more a question about those remarkable reviews that every /sci/lon should read. Obviously I'll not be able to understand a paper too deep in biology, but there are some simplified reviews out there. I suggest the special edition of Nature for the 200th anniversary of Darwin's birth, for example:
http://www.nature.com/news/specials/darwin/index.htmlhttp://www.nature.com/news/specials/darwin/inde
x.html
Free PDFs at the end of the page, but there are more around for this issue of Nature.

Thanks anyway.
Regarding nook, I've read bad reviews of B&N customer service.

I've visited that site. I'm not looking for a shitload of books, but few worthy reads. If I have to spend a few bucks in amazon for a good book, it's not a problem.
I'm reading PDFs perfectly well in portrait and landscape more already...

>>2410793
That shouldn't be a problem. ;D
Just check what other anon said, see if you really want to spend more for the 3G edition.

Well, that was the kind of stuff I was looking for.
Recommended! If anyone else has a Kindle, you can convert several of the texts there using Calibre (free) to the .mobi format, which is the one used by amazon. (And it also converts to others like .epub, etc).
