Would it would be possible to use an organic intermediate like a carbocation as an electrolyte?

I was just wondering how long these intermediates actually exist, because if they exist long enough theoretically I can make an electrolyte for an instant from mixing say ethene and bromine water. Would this work?

anyone?

Carbocation intermediates are short lived.

So short lived that they couldn't be used as an electrolyte?
