I find it helpful to explain IQ with an analogy.

Think of your brain as a CPU, a raw processing unit. Your IQ simply tells us what kind of a CPU you have.

An IQ of 100 is a perfectly good single core chip.
An IQ of 120 nets you a 2 GHz dual core.
An IQ of 130 is a quad core running at 2.5 ghz.
An IQ of 140 is a quad core with hyper threading running 3+ GHz
Etc.

Now, whether you use your CPU for playing shitty weeaboo games and browsing 4chan or for cancer research has nothing to with how fast you CPU is. You can still be a fucking retarded faggot with a sick quad core chip.

Well, we have a lot of different tests for a lot of different "intelligences", where intelligence means "aptitude in whatever type of reasoning.". Basically, to determine what a person's aptitude in whatever type of reasoning, you ask them to solve problems in that type of reasoning. Straightforward.

There are some tests for "general intelligence", also known as "g", but those are more controversial. There are lots of people who don't even think g exists.

I have never taken an official test at an official institution, so I just assume my IQ is the ultimate average, ie. 100. Sometimes it might feel like more, but until I have some paper on it I will do the math and guess the number to which the largest amount of people belong to.
