Khan Academy is good.
He tends to derive every new idea that's introduced, which gives you a much deeper understanding of what you're learning. For example in my Statistics class at college we were simply given the formula for the Poission distribution, but good old Khan shows exactly where it came from which is quite interesting. (in my opinion)

You seem to have it about right though. Practice is key, but make sure you stretch yourself and don't look at the answers until you are 100% happy with your own.

As for motivation etc fuck knows, I always wait until panic sets in (usually about 2 or 3 days before the exams) then go absolutely flat out. Haven't done too bad though, came 5th out of 500 students for math last year so make of that what you will.

What motivates me is that I know what I want to be and I know what knowledge/skills I must acquire in order to do that. Plus the material itself interests me.

I don't think you can find other good factors of motivation than simply enjoying what you are doing and knowing it will also have a pay-off in the future.

I've gotten in the habit of being a little more creative and independent and trying to come up with my own problems or situations to test my understanding of concepts. Sometimes writing a little bit of python or MATLAB code (or whatever language you're comfortable with) really helps.

I'm just learning statistics and it's nice that there's this very easy to use RNG library where I can just roll a simulated die 98376983768937698736 times to see if such and such means come close to expected values

also, do shitloads of problems, not merely what's assigned to you. work really hard all day and then relax at night with a fat bowl to speed-relax and uninhibit dat creative muscle (which you'll need for serious career progression - so start practicing creative thinking now!).
