The untapped power of the sun. The ability to create such energy yet we do nothing with it.

Why aren't we doing more with this? What would /sci/ do?

>> No.2273122

That picture is obviously an optical illusion. The sun is not that small.

Never underestimate the stupidity of the masses.

Doesn't help when launching shit into space for near-constant power generation is prohibitively expensive either.

Oh but it is. I held it in my hands.

Damn... the possibilities...

STFU you're not real GOD! If you are real how come we found dinosaur bones and fossils? Why do babies die huh God?

I have quite a bit of your OC.

That idiot was like 6 inches away from melting his hand. I love the hesitation of that solar scientist dude and the amount of spite in his eyes.

Technically we cant "create" energy

>> No.2273229

Oh my god OP, this is the first time I have visited this board, and after seeing this video and looking at the rest of the page, I'm staying! Absolutely incredible!

I never made religon. I just made the universe. I have no idea what made me, I just do what I do. I rarely interact with my self aware creations because they tend to go a little barmy. I set a bush on fire and suddenly a whole new religon pops up. I preferred the days of sun worship. I like stars. Death is a process, we can't have everyone living forever. It's your own fault for creating such a shitty system in the first place. You could all quite easily feed the world and power it with all the resources I have given you yet all you do is war over petty problems.

Oh and there is no afterlife. I have no idea how long I will live for either. Shit happens and then you die. Deal with it.

-God

PS- If I were a real person I could get quite a few people done for copyright infringment and slander. Fuckers keep using my name and putting words in my mouth.

Yes, yes yes but you know what I mean. I'm no /sci/fag but I think this video gives a large idea of the possibilities of what we can do with the suns energy and I'd like to hear some ideas from 4chans best and brightest.

I nearly posted it on /n/ew then reaised it would just turn into NIGGARS and JEWS DID IT.

/sci/ is not a fast board. We love this, but we already know of the (possibly) destructive power of Sol.

they use these kind of large parabolic mirrors in africa for cooking. i think a problem is that you need those really perfect shaped, costly to produce mirrors for optimal energy transformation, otherwise it has high loss. if it really would be more efficient (energy- and costwise) than standard solar panels, those mirrors would already be used.. not because it's better for the environment, but simply because you could make money of it.

also, if water pressure

>> No.2273422

I've always thought a solar forge would be a pretty sweet thing to have.

>> No.2273832

1) high installation cost
2) lots of land required to rival more efficient methods
3) not that energy efficient currently.

get solar panel efficiency upwards of 50%, and drastically increase battery capacity and we'll talk
