A double displacement reaction can be defined as 2 molecules exchanging ions, am I right?

Not a homework, just revising chemistry to understand in what way resources could be manipulated on other planets of the solar system.

Not necessarily ions, especially in an astrophysical context, but close. Also, an actual exchange between two molecules is kind of rare. More often, molecule A will get a group from B, and then B will its new group from C (which is similar to or the same as A originall was).
