You're looking through a telescope, you find a new star, bigger than any other star ever recorded. What do you call it?

The big "explosion" that started the universe is called the .... Big Bang.

Invisible matter that we can't observe directly is called .... Dark Matter.

A big red star is called a .... Red Giant.

The biggest star ever found shall therefore be called .... You gotta be shitting me.

>> No.2232380

i'd call it your penis

because then scientific discussion would inevitably be about the unique qualities of your penis, produced by the incredible volume and density of it, like none ever seen before

and science would become incredibly gay

I seriously laugh at all the people who are jelly of Obama.

Raised by a single mom in the lower middle class. She dies young due to cancer and poor insurance coverage.

Worked his way into millions and became president.

Self made man.

Did I mention he did that all while being black? That's a handicap in politics.

Haters gonna hate.

You are now aware that the human eye can only detect a few thousand stars out in the night sky, which have long since been plotted by ancient and medieval astronomers. It would also take a very large and powerful telescope to detect even the faintest light coming from a protostar. And all those stars that we see with our naked eye are only about 6,000 lightyears away, roughly about the same time that creationists claim the Universe to have been created.

Checkmate, atheists.

Might as well forget this one and try again in an hour op

You would follow the international standards and name it using a catalogue number, same as every other new star that is discovered

sorry, doesn't work. Stars slightly beyond the current theoretical limit of star mass already have been found (work to correct the theory for non-linear effects in the star's atmosphere is underway).

You won't find anything heavier than that which also qualifies as a star. I suggest you hunt black holes instead, the only compact object which can have arbitrary mass.
