Negative speeds do not exists
Speed is the rate at which something changes position in ANY direction
Velocity is the rate at which it changes position relative to some position
You can have negative velocity, ie. moving away from the position

OP that actually does work, it's just impractical. Due to physics it would make it physically impossible to even push a bike like that uphill. On a theoretical constantly flat surface it could work, but real life doesn't work that way
