Here's a site with lots of downloadable science texts covering a variety of subjects

If you are a visual learner you can start with khanacademy. Very basic and easy to understand tutorials for people new to math. Covers everything from basic arithmetic to organic chem

Khanacademy.org

Good information and examples here

Walter Rudin's principles of mathematical analysis.

For linear algebra I'm not sure.

For undergrad algebra, take a look at Serge Lang's "Algebra".

Generally, take a look at university sites, their lectures usually have a literature section.

Yeah, teach them math before you teach them philosophy and logic....

That'll work out quite well....

wait what?

Are you serious? Liberal for what country? If you're a 'Murican, which area of the country?

In 'Murica, the schools that fill unflattering liberal stereotypes tend to be the ones that gloss over hard math.

I'm assuming everyone here is following the rules, thus is over 18 and a high school graduate that has learned basic Arithmetic, Algebra, Calculus already....

There not much math out there you can learn before learning some Analysis or Abstract Algebra. Plus, Analysis as it is now is what used to be Calculus 70 years ago before everything was repeatedly watered down...

In Washington State, at least when I was in school, you were only required to take math up through 10th grade. Most people could at least get to Geometry (think it's called Algebra II now) by that time.

I'm betting most people who browse /sci/ took AP calc in high school, and either started Calc II or III in college/

Yes, I'm trolling because I want people to learn philosophy and logic BEFORE they learn math.

LOL wat?

How fucking retarded are you?
