remember when you were a kid and invented a lot of shit, such as evolution, time travel, particle accelerator, random number generator. then explained to your parents and everyone thought you were some sort of child genius
then later you discovered that it is all very commonly known stuff and you are no god/genius but merely a normal human being with slightly above average intelligence and that nothing you do will ever matter.
feels bad man

this is now a thread about fractals

you have no idea how many times i've "invented" something as a kid only to have it really invented a few years later. for example, I came up with the idea of an immersive VR environment with a counter-moving floor so you never actually move when I was like 10. and last year (when I was 18), and I got baked and wrote down this detailed explanation of haptic glove VR tech that would track your hands and tighten the glove when you "touched" a virtual object, so that you felt something.

both have been invented now, luckily I have some more plans, neural tech plans, that won't be feasible til I'm out of grad school and into the work force. I still have my chance for fame

just measure it there, post pics of the length and shit, or pretend that the small squares are cubic cm or something, and there are 8 points around them

if the whole cube has area 1,
the ith iteration will have volume of (20/27)^i, and surface area of 6*(4/3)^i

As I kid, I used to read dictionaries just because I was bored and/or knowing the meanings of new words seemed fun.
People were amazed with my vacabulary and shit, told my parents I was a gifted child and whatnot.

that's strange, I had the exact same idea for the glove as a kid. Needless to say, I quickly extended the idea to include the whole body for ultrarealistic sex simulation

what about if the small squares hole = to 10 cm,
each square hole has 8 squares placed around it, three at the top, three below and one each side.

the cube is constructed the other way... start with the whole cube, remove the center of each face, and the center of the cube, do likewise with each of the 20 smaller cubes remaining, repeat... there is no.. smallest cube, it keeps going forever... 's what fractals do..

I re-invented calculus when I was 14, with my own notation that I made up. Bear in mind I knew calculus existed, just didn't know anything about it, so I thought what I had done might be original.

I was soooo pissed when I found out it had been done.

Also when I was shown pascal's triangle aged 12, I found the factorial relationship behind it and made up binomial theorem. once again mad as shit when it had been done :((

Just take the full volume of all the holes, and then take the cubes volume minus the total volume of the holes. I can only see a tunnel in the biggest hole so im considering those around the center as NON-tunnels.

That's how I would solve it.

The big hole's volume: V1= 1/3 *1/3*1/3
There are 5 big holes: 5*V

The second biggest holes volume is: V2=1/9*1/9*1/9
There are 8 as many secondary holes as big holes: 8*5*V2

The fourth biggest hole has the 9 times less dimension, one of its volumes are: V3=1/81*1/81*1/81
There are 9 fourthbiggestholes for every thirdbiggesthole. Total volume is: 9*8*5*V3

The smallest holes has 9 times less volume even further: V4=1/6561*1/6561*1/6561
There are 9 holes in the fifth scale for every hole in the fourth scale, total amount of smallest holes: 9*9*8*5*V4

Total volume:V = V(Full cube) - V(All holes)

V(total) = 1 - (5V+8*5*V2+9*8*5*V3+9*9*8*5*V4)

There you go.

Imagine it was even you absolute pussy, each of the smallest square holes that are within the entire side of the cube equate to 18.5 cm^2? (or just a side of the square), and each of the smallest square holes have 8 full squares dotted around them -- the squares are of equal length the the ones next to them and the hole square.

Go.

When I was younger I invented general relativity and calculus without even knowing they already existed. Felt really bad when I realized people had already done that shit.

>There are 9???? fourthbiggestholes for every thirdbiggesthole. Total volume is: 9*8*5*V3

I mean there are 8 fourthbiggestholes for every thirdbiggesthole... The amount grows by a factor of 8 for ever step in decrease of volume.

correction also applies for the smallest holes.

why the fuck would i solve shit with random number such as 18.5 cm^2.... just take the 4th or 5th(depending whether you're looking at the image as the thumbnail or the whole image..) iteration, and multiply by whatever the volume of the whole cube would be given your faggoty little value..)
