Recently my computer science teacher said that "Computer Science Majors are born not made".
So you either have it or you dont .
What do you think?

Well it does help being genetically smarter than everyone

You can train a noob to science, but then you've just got a trained noob, not a scientist.

Your professor is retarded.

>> No.2170810

fuck that elitist bullshit. we all don't go to nice schools with patient teachers and computer labs willing to teach us computer science or how to do cool shit. and scientists wonder why the public is so anti intellectual.

OP, I am a Computing Science major and I can attest to this fact. I was, as far as I know, born of my mother's womb, and in fact not synthetically created in a mechanical process overseen by our reptilian overlords.

your teacher might as well shove dildos in his ass for a living. you can say that about any science or art, cs is probably one of the most dull majors if you're only doing it for the potential money, but yeah you get bitch amounts of money doing mostly basic tasks in most jobs. janitors are born not made too, right? you might have to literally be a machine to enjoy cs, but that phrase doesn't mean anything, op. my opinion is, if you're a boss who loves cs, you'd be much better off skipping the degree, or in the case of one of my friends (a laid back software distribution manager or some shit at microsoft), just getting it at a community college.

He sounds like a pretentious douche.

It's not.

My parents, whom are the best, are not the most intelligent. I'm not saying I'm a Genius or anything, but I am easily in the top 5% of my school, which is one of the best public school in SoCal.

Furthermore, your professor is correct, OP. You're either born with it or not. You also have to have passion for something and can't just thrive on being book smart. Oh and for those of you who need to have a teacher spoon feed you until you get it, you're not fit for said subject.

THAN FUCK YOU AND YOUR CROWD FOR MAKING US FEEL LIKE SHIT ABOUT IT SO WE FORCE OURSELVES TO DO WELL IN IT AND BE UNSATISFIED FOREVER.
