So if ive got pure gas in a container. And all the atoms are whizzing around. Wtf is in between the atoms as they roam around? Space?

There's nothing in between the atoms, a complete vacuum. Same thing "between" basically everything. This should be obvious to you. At any rate, if you want to get incredibly technical, you could say that the wavefunctions of the atoms are in between the atoms.

I have no idea what you're asking, but there is a thing called "cooling" which stops these moving atoms. So you take your jar and put it in a "refrigerator" and magically the atoms will "separate" towards the "bottom" of the "jar."

If you freeze the gas solid, and it had been previous completely filled with gas, and your container was perfect

then that empty space would be pretty close to a vacuum ( or BE a vacuum since we're talking hypotheticals ).


Example:
Heat up an empty soda can. I doesn't have to be too hot, but heat it enough so that you think its hot.

Put this soda can in ice cold water.

Observe results.

Ok so ive got a immovable container. Full of a certain type of gas. If i froze the gas inside of it some how, wouldnt the volume of the solid be less then the gas? So if this solid forms and all forms on the bottom of this container wouldnt there be a empty space above it?

Yes the pressure in the container would be very low. But it is extremely difficult to freeze out all the gas molecules due to thermodynamic reasons.
