What's wrong with this?

Arbitrary and inconsistent.

No, the perimeter of the shape generated by this algorithm really is 4, but its not a circle, so the conclusion that pi=4 is wrong because the ratio of a circles diameter is pi but the shape created is not a circle it is some fractal shape.

The theorem implied by the picture does not exist.

It's not nihilistic/atheistic, therefore of no interest to the atheists that patrol /sci/ 24/7 suppressing our imaginations.

It's also an obvious troll with absolutely nothing new, so I will learn nothing replying in this thread, so I did not. You said something new, so I post in the hopes that I might learn something.

draw a straight line.

then draw a jagged edge made from right angles along that line.

the jagged edge no matter how small its jags are, will never be the same total distance as the straight line, because each little triangle made is still more length than the line it covers, or the hypotenuse.
the total length of the jags doesn't change either because as the triangles are smaller, theres far far more of them.

try to visualise that and see if it makes sense in your head
if not i can always draw a purdy picture

In one 1/4 rotation, a square, will create a perfect circle within. That troll pic is not elaborate, it could be much better. Why don't you use your 'intelligence' to find out ways in which you can make Pi = 4.

Just because a sequence of curves converges to another curve does not mean that the length of those curves converges to a the length of the curve.

(Well, pointwise or uniform convergence anyway. In Sobolev spaces it works.)

This fact is something that struck me as somewhat odd from a young age when some kids show (Square One Television?) alluded to it but didn't really explain what made that wrong. It was only when I got a small taste of functional analysis in college that I felt I was suitably satisfied.
