Question1. Do you think we use the death penalty enough?
Yes
2. what forms of the death penalty do you think are still used today?
In the entire world? Fuck, that's alot. Uh, I'm going to go with firing squad, lethal injection, electric chair, stoning, hanging.
3. do you think more brutal methods of execution like the electric chair are still acceptable?
No
4. do you think we would save more money by pushing more convicts into death row?
Maybe, need to research if it actually does or does not.
5. How long do you think a person should be on death row before there execution?
10 to 20 years
6. Do you think a rise in the death penalty will lower the crime rate?
No
7. Does your state have the death penalty?
Yes

>> No.2129623

1. Yes
2 Depends on country. Hangan, shootan, lethal injection and chair are the ones in the US as far as I know. If we start talking about, say, Iran, then add stoning and burning. Shit could go on, humans are crafty in the matters of showkilling.
3 No. They are pointless.
4 A proven no for current US methods. Only way to be cheaper would be if after the "i declare the defendant guilty and sentence him to execution" the criminal was escorted out to a ditch and shot.
5 See 4. Sentenced, escorted to place of execution, executed. With proper organization shouldn't take more than 1 hour
6 Proven no.
7 No.

1. Yes
2. Injection, electric chair, hanging, firing squad, gas, certainly other things, but I do not know specifically what.
3. I do not think any method of execution is acceptable.
4. Not at all. Death row is a long and expensive process. Plenty of people die of natural causes or usual prison violence before they even get close to their date.
5. Although I do not support the death penalty at all, there is no reason to allow someone to linger in prison once they've been sentenced to die. It accomplishes nothing. They might as well be killed immediately rather than eventually.
6. No.
7. No.

>> No.2129675

1. Do you think we use the death penalty enough?

Enough? Uh... What? I mean, we should have it and all, but shit. Enough? I think it should be used, so I'd say 'yes'.

2. what forms of the death penalty do you think are still used today?
firing squad, gas, lethal injection, electrocution, and maybe another one
3. do you think more brutal methods of execution like the electric chair are still acceptable?

Nah, the electric chair is kinda out dated. Lethal injection is more humane; at least the dudes asleep when he dies, instead of shitting on himself.

4. do you think we would save more money by pushing more convicts into death row?

Violent or premeditated murder should follow the death penalty, but nonviolent yet sever crimes (see Berny Madoff) should get a life sentence. Cost wise, I've heard that it's just as expensive to house an inmate for life compared to the trials and appeals for an execution. Idk, I'd say 'no'.

5. How long do you think a person should be on death row before there execution?

2 Years. Enough time for retrials, but short enough that ti doesn't bog the system down. Sad, but shit happens; criminal law is inexact, just like everything else is. We need to try and be as accurate as we can, and if we keep spending time second guessing ourselves for years at a time, then nothing gets accomplished.

6. Do you think a rise in the death penalty will lower the crime rate?

Possibly. I'd have to say 'yes'.

7. Does your state have the death penalty?

Yes. http://www.lexingtonprosecutor.com/death_row.htm

1. Do you think we use the death penalty enough?
>No, and even when it is used, it's used ineffectively.

2. what forms of the death penalty do you think are still used today?
>Lethal injection, hanging, firing squad, electric chair, and gas chamber are the official methods from various states, but lethal injection is the only one that's used regularly.

3. do you think more brutal methods of execution like the electric chair are still acceptable?
>I think the mode in which a person is executed should be a public spectacle and custom fit to the individual crime. All methods of execution should be considered valid based on the severity of the crime.

4. do you think we would save more money by pushing more convicts into death row?
>Until we accept methods of execution which are cheaper than lethal injection, no, probably not.

5. How long do you think a person should be on death row before there execution?
>If a threshold of certainty as to a person's guilt is met, there should be no delay in the process. If there is any uncertainty, then the full appeals process should be observed.

6. Do you think a rise in the death penalty will lower the crime rate?
>Statistics show that death penalty alone is not a significant deterrent to violent crimes, in fact quite the opposite. However, a public spectacle execution system along with obvious social factors such as better education would, I believe, lower the violent crime rate.

7. Does your state have the death penalty?
>Yes, Arizona has lethal injection and the gas chamber.

1. Do you think we use the death penalty enough?
> Not really, no. I don't think everyone on death row ought to be put to death, but I think that those on death row ought to hurry the fuck up and get killed. Appeals procedure takes so very long.

7. Does your state have the death penalty?
I believe so. WA.

>> No.2130005

Yes.

Lethal injection

Nah

Yes. Trials for the death sentence are absurdly expensive. Cheaper to give them enough money to live the rest of their life.

There is no answer to that question. The time spent on death row can be decades if you have a lawyer that wants some money and can keep slamming you through the appeals process.

Not at all. You're more likely to die committing crime warranting the death penalty then being punished for such a thing.

Yes. Texas is here. Killing the worst of the worst erry couple years.

What did punctuation do to you that made you hate it so much, OP?

Question1. No. Kill everyone who commits a crime above a misdemeanor. Stop wasting time.

2. what forms of the death penalty do you think are still used today? Are you asking my opinion on a fact?

3. do you think more brutal methods of execution like the electric chair are still acceptable? Too expensive. Drugs are best.

4. do you think we would save more money by pushing more convicts into death row? Again, just kill them as soon as the guilty verdict is in. Good of the many, my friend. Good of the many...

5. How long do you think a person should be on death row before there execution? However long it takes to walk from the courtroom to the room where they'll be killed.

6. Do you think a rise in the death penalty will lower the crime rate? Yes. Most criminals are repeat offenders. But not if they're dead.

7. Does your state have the death penalty? Yup.

Don't do a pussy-ass paper to appease your teacher, OP. Killing the useless members of society would benefit us more than any other single factor. Everyone knows this is true. Force them to admit it.
